Sometimes I Lose My Temper

by Raymond
(Boulder, CO)

Depression has always affected my relationships. I get angry, I verbally attack my mom or my sister and get really depressed afterward.

The funny thing is that I never associated anger with depression. Now I have a better understanding of how the two things relate.

I take steps to avoid anger triggers. I take note of what pushes my buttons and plan how to talk about this stuff with my mom and sis.

I've been doing some kickboxing. That relieves a bunch of stress. I also like to journal.

Meditation Rocks!
by: Theona

Janie,

I've found that mindfulness meditation helps me on so many levels. And studies do show that meditation helps relieve depression.

Thanks for commenting.

Depression is so complicated
by: Janie

Hi,

Raymond, I have the same problems with controlling my anger. It makes me feel so ashamed when I lose control.

I like to do meditation. Yes, I know it can sound daunting, but it has helped me stay calm and focused.

I hope things continue to get better for you.
